Thread: Is there any instrumental only,Mellotron albums out there?

  1. #26
    Hey hey,

I made an album a while back using only Optigans, Chamberlins, Orchestrons....and Mellotrons!

The band was called AK-momo and the entire album is on Spotify and all the other places...

Heres a video we made from my wifes family films...

But...it doesnt end there!!! I will be releasing an album this spring with a project called ....in these murky waters along the same lines...but with a new vocalist...!

    that was cool!
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

there is a fair bit of Trons in this late-70's French electronic wizzard Dominique Guiot's first album

probably not enough for this thread, but still worth a listen

The annoucement of a Rime of the Ancient sampler album appears on the early DGM mail-order catalogues, circa 1995, but it has remained unreleased.
    Presumably not this : https://rateyourmusic.com/release/co...lotron_album_/

The all-instrumental band Trion made several albums that heavily featured loads of mellotron (samples, actually) but not mellotron only. Here's the title track from 2003's Tortoise.

some of these adoration masses are laughable (and incredibly boring, from what I'e scanned): when to they commit the ultimate human sacrifice on the altar of the instrument?

That album was quickly deleted from RCA Nashville's catalog as they were afraid of the inevitable lawsuits brought about by angry listeners who (rightly) noticed the use of a real fiddle on the penultimate track. False advertising!!! Great album. I'm glad you mentioned it as it remains one of the purist expressions of Country Prog ever committed to wax.
