    Fabulous, thank you!

A great introduction to one of the most accomplished and advanced (actual) composers in all of rock. Only a certain pity that such an introduction would still be necessary. Mike J.'s work moves so far beyond the "bulk" that it practically serves as an introduction to that possibility itself. Plague/M.J. should be listened to by more, so many more.

It really is an excellent interview. I love the album-by-album sequential approach, and detail. He may be the only composer where many of the pieces I will spontaneously burst out laughing during moments at just how out-of-this world they are. And the albums just get better and better. Although 'Blown Apart' (from 'A History of Madness') caused the same reaction in me the other night. I think later albums however do so more consistently. Truly fascinating music in a world of its' own, blazing trails into unexpected and unexplored places, which I find very gratifying, and impressive.

I am humbly bumbing this thread up once. Just because I think it really is a good interview and of course because great artist like Mike Johnson really deserves more exposure.

^ There are several somewhat "half-academic" interviews with Mike J. out there, but this one is so obviously conducted from a humble fan's perspective that it manages to stand out quite significantly. Great job, man! And I know that Mike J. is mostly just welcoming and inviting, but he's also a hell of an authority when it comes to certain aspects of music theory and evaluations thereon - autodidact or not. His music with TP soares as some of the most intricate "rock" imaginable, so folks in a place like PE should want to read it.

Glad this was bumped as I missed it frst time. Some fascinating insights into TP music there which make me want to fill in the gaps in my collection.

It's also great to hear from someone unashamed not to be a patriot. In the last couple of years I have got very very sick of people who have a fundamental belief that their own country is so damn exceptional (and that starts at home for me with the Brexit shambles and those behind it).
