    Esperanza Spalding - 12 Little Spells (2018)

This new album (2nd within the last 12 months) dropped last Friday 10/19.

    Another great record for Esperanza.

Thang, Touch in Mine and the last 3 tracks especially stand out for me.

    She's awesome.

Haven't heard this one yet, and I'm still getting acquainted with Exposure, but so far I have liked almost everything she has done.

She was debuting these songs one at a time on her Facebook page over the last couple weeks. Some very interesting ideas in this one. Very abstract, and sure not to please the folks who'd prefer that she do more straight-ahead jazz.

It's on audio streaming services too (e.g. Spotify, Apple Music, etc.).

And I'm actually fine with it, if it means we get to hear the music sooner rather than having to wait until the physical media is manufactured and shipped and whatever else.

Ok, thanks! I have to admit to being a little disappointed... not much into streaming or those services here.

Well, I can understand that. But hey, at least there is going to be a physical release.

This is another rather unpredictable release from her to be enjoyed more by folks like us. Her jazz crowd must be wondering WTF she's doing.

I'm glad she's following her muse to such cool places.

Wow, sounds amazing! I'll be picking up a copy! There are plenty of amazing jazz records coming out. More interesting pop music is welcome.
