It's not everyday that we hear of a band from China making Western-style music. What's more, they're quite good. Check out their Bandcamp page. This was something of a surprise to me.

Here's another BandCamp, with more releases:

Yes, thanks for the post! Zhaoze feature an electric Guqin (traditional Chinese instrument a bit like the koto). I found some concert video where you can see it (and them) in action:
Nice stuff. Very Postrock-ish but with a Chinese flavour. Not unlike that Korean band Jambinai.
Very good post-rock music. My problem with it is that I can never listen to this genre too much.
Good progressive rock post-cock floppydop pop music.
Thx for posting.

they sound more post-rock to my ears and I'm kinda tired for such stuff but they're OK.
I'm not real clear on the difference between Post-Rock and Progressive Rock. For example, Gosta Berlings Saga is called Post-Rock, but sounds like Prog-Rock to my ears. Godspeed You! Black Emperor is called Post-Rock, and does not sound like Prog-Rock to my ears. So, when posting the thread, I just went with the main tag on the Zhaoze Bandcamp page.
I bought this Zhaoze disc and the new one by Sky Cries Mariachi, and the label threw in a free Ole Lukkoye comp. Nice.
^ It's not even nearly as simple as that, Moe.
Some post-rock is also progressive rock, whereas much isn't - and sometimes doesn't even sound much like "rock" at all (just like Deuter or Tangerine Dream rarely did). However, equally much post-rock tends to be of some interest to fans of progressive rock, this being whether or not it is also by def a kind of progressive rock in itself.
Hope this clears things up indefinitely, for ever and ever and without any perpetual change or eternalteration.

^ Thanks, Richard. Another genre tag that is functionally meaningless. Who would have guessed?
Right on.
But -not- sympho-gymsko! "Gymsko" being the Norwegian word for gymnastic shoes - alas sympho-gymsko is the kind of sympho you hear while wearing such shoes, either for a jog or walkin' the dog or penetrating fog/smog or chasing a hog or going for a snog with lady beautyblog.
Perhaps one of the most functional genre terms of all time.

That Always reminds me About stupid TV Commercials:
Person1: This cheese is creamy!
Person2: No it is spicy!
Person1: No it is creamy!
Person2: No it is spicy!
and so on and so on..
Person 1: This rock is prog.
Person 2: This rock is post.
Person 1: But, post rock doesn't mean anything.
Person 2: But, prog rock doesn't mean anything.
Lots of People: Who gives a shit?
Slightly less people: This is rock?
It's all so confusing...I mean, like, is Post-Rock Rock that you can hang a fence on, or is it Rock that you stick in the mail?
I think is quite decent.

Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883...
My wife has lived in the UK/Canada for 20 years but she's originally from China. She sent the bandcamp link to her brother in Canada - she liked the music.
