Great way to look at it and might have been doing this on some level anyway.

I don't have a problem with him singing about god per se, what irks me is more the exalted way he calls out to him at times, or the superlative way he refers to him (the prince of the power of the air, the king of angel armies...)

Neal is very passionate about what he's writing/singing. I wish more artists were.

Same. There have been times where it is heavier handed than I'd like, but I don't have any issue with someone writing about what they believe passionately. The last few albums have been fantastic.

The prince of the power of the air is not a reference to god.

All right maybe it's the holy ghost but it doesn't change my point

No, it's not that one either. It refers to something else entirely.

    Then I'm seeing religion in Neal's lyrics when I shouldn't. That's a first!

    Yeah, yeah, Satan.

I wish I were a musician. I'd call myself Meal Norse and put out an album called The Prince of Darkness Gives Power to Those Who Believe...or Not

I'm around the 5th listening as well. It's definitely a lot of music to take in. My first impression was not so good but I'm warming to it. I don't see it topping Similitude in my book, but I guess it all depends how much metal leanings and all-out prog extravaganza you expect from these guys. There's definitely more of this on the new album.

I finally got that thanks to you guys. It didn't seem obvious to me at first. Is that expression invented by Neal or common in the US?
