We're carrying it at the store where I work. We unfortunately sold out right away but we'll restock.
Thanks to Burning Shed, I now have this album and am enjoying disc 1. (I am never going to play disc 2.)
Some important observations... The first track is a solo by Jobson from Fat Grapple's debut live show. The audio is good. This rather implies that the whole show may have been recorded: I wonder if there's any chance of that being released.
Also, the liner notes lay out what the other releases in the series are going to be (if they happen):
1980-1989 The Solo Years
1990-1999 The Scoring Years
2000-2009 The Eclectic Years
2010-2019 The Retrospective Years
Do those names give any clues as to what might be on them?

Got it from BS as well and indeed, disk 2 won't be played...
I do like the thus far unreleased stuff, so I'm happy with this work.
The coming releases might contain the Pink album, the soundtrack of Nash Bridges and some advertising work Jobson has done, UKZ and guest appearances on albums by John Entwistle, King Crimson, Andy MacKay, Jasun Martz, Phil Manzanera(/801), Jethro Tull and Jack Rieley/Machiel Botman, plus his pianowork on the Private Music-albums.
Like others, I wasn't sure I wanted to buy this for the $27 that Amazon US is charging since I have most of the tracks already. However, I just found it on FYE for $18.74! It is part of a store-wide 25% off sale, with free shipping, through November 27.

Judging by 1971-1979, I think we can presume 1980-1989 will have two thirds of The Green Album on it! Agreed, hopefully we'll get a fair amount of Pink. The Private Music piano pieces seem likely too. Maybe a track off A? THere's no confirmation AFAIK that these will all be 2CD releases.
The Scoring Years will be interesting as almost none of that has been released.
Crimson, Mackay, Manzanera sessions... they're from the '70s, so presumably they've missed their chance of being included.

Yes, I guess you're right, but I added them because this first selection contains tracks from bands in which Jobson was one of the members (hence the title "The Band Years"), while on the albums by these groups/musicians Jobson was "just" a guest-musician.
But indeed, the years given in the titles suggest the Crimson, Manzanera etc. sessions won't be included anywhere.
I expect (or hoping for) bits of the Legacy-project. I'm sure tracks of The Bulgarian Women's Choir will be included, but I doubt the Pink Album demos will be, but you never know...

^^^ I just Googled a bit to see what the Pink album actually was, and found this piece of bizarre news in an EJ interview. Did anything ever come of this?
There was talk it was going to be followed up by The Pink Album. What happened to that?
It was never made but two members of Glass Hammer, Fred Schendel and Alan Shikoh, have just made their own version of it, in the style of The Green Album, under the band name CZ-101. Yes they are actually calling it The Pink Album.

This was a pretty interesting interview with him. For those that might have missed it (it was from late 2017): https://www.pressreader.com/uk/prog/...81530816301653
I wonder if there are recordings from the band with Bon Lozaga and Mark Craney, a short living project Jobson formed after U.K.
Demos should exist as I believe the project was turned down by EG...
Researching this release, I was reminded of my favourite Roxy Music fact. The girls on the risque cover of Country Life are Can's Michael Karoli's girlfriend and cousin.

Just got mine from FYE by mail. Haven't had a chance to listen yet. Anyone else get theirs and have a spin yet?
^ It's a good compilation of the '70s work by a fantastic musician. I listened to music I know in a new context, and there were some interesting rarities.
That said, the idea of doing a "compilation" is very 20th century. I do not see the point. I've got the UK albums and most of the Roxy albums. I'm never playing CD 2 of this. Many musicians these days focus more on completeness and releasing rarities than just the 'greatest hits'. Something like, say, Steve Howe's Anthology 2 still has some greatest hits, buts put more weight on previously unreleased material or at least alternate versions of familiar tracks.
