I also loved his work later on 'ROM'.

He was living in his own apartment at age 90 and died of natural causes. He was probably one of the lucky ones.

My comic book years were too late (early 70s) to see his best work in first-runs, but his name was known to me, and he also created anothe of my absolute favorite characters in Dr. Strange. RIP

RIP to one of the giants of comics

Steve Ditko's one of the TRUE legends of comics. (Rob Lie***d? Puhleez.) His art was unlike any other pro's, nor was his style easily emulated. Apart from his legendary work on Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, he did some great stuff for the indies, and Warren Publishing. Check out a story he drew for the latter, called "Black Magic." It appeared in Eerie #5.

Yep. Ditko was up there with legends like Kirby and Curt Swan. Awesome work.
Cobra handling and cocaine use are a bad mix.

    Another underappreciated artist!
