A staple of 70's rock was the triple bill consisting of "second- and third-tier" hard rock bands, cult favorites, etc. usually playing in a dilapidated shed arena. I never actually made it to one of these but I saw them advertised often; here on Long Island I believe they were held in the Commack Arena which also housed minor league hockey. Typical bands you might expect to see were:
Foghat
Pat Travers Band
Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush
early Rush
early Aerosmith
early Blue Oyster Cult
early Ted Nugent
Starz
Angel
Robin Trower
Charlie Daniels Band
Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes
Bob Seger
I'm sure I'll think of a few more. What are your memories of triple-bill shows you saw?
