This is as good a reason as any to give that another spin. I enjoyed it when it came out, but I do prefer the "other singer" to Walsh, though Walsh is in decent form here, all things considered.

I just picked up Black Butterfly and it is really good. The best his voice has sounded in years.

If there are going to be a lot of birthday threads for elder prog rockers, maybe they need to be required to state "...and is alive and well" to avoid the inevitable Abe Vigoda confusion.

I listened to the "Nothing But Nothing" track above, and it doesn't sound anything like the guy who sang on those 70s Kansas albums. Now if you told me it was a 67 year old Bon Scott...Wait, that can't be right.

    " Singer Steve Walsh ... IS 67"

    Living in the present tense.

What became of all those years?

Yeah, me too. I don't know why it entered my mind that way when glancing at the thread titles. But anyway... Good news. Carry on!

I'm listening to a couple tracks from Black Butterfly. It's got an hairy, 80s metal sheen.

Eh, I've played 4 or 5 songs from Black Butterfly. In my opinion, Glossolalia blows it away. I'm gonna try Shadowman.

    Just heard Rise from Shadowman.....

It's as technical and thrashy as Megadeth. So far, so good (pun intended).....lol.

Heard Shadowman on YouTube. Damn it's good. I should've bought it when I had the chance, but seems like most of the reviews I read here were kind of negative. I like what I hear. Damn good follow up to Gloss. One track in particular that I really dig is Faule Dr Roane. I know it's a bonus track but damn it just makes the album stronger. If anyone wants to get rid of it I'll take it. I'll trade or pay for it.

"Glossolalia" is still Steve's solo masterpiece IMO, and the new one does not come close to it, but I still dig it for the most part.
