    My Nephew who is 24.

I'll see if I can drum up some vids.

Born musically gifted. He started on drums and now plays guitar, banjo and just about anything with strings.

James Swenson Flagg from Bubblemath, very underexposed, but has been spectacular every time I have seen them.

This guy (Sharon Petrover) from Project RnL, he is playing an Octapad, but also is amazing on the acoustic kit.

Loads of great young drummers, but being a really original voice very difficult, and having a catalogue of recorded work even harder. Days of the 'name' drummer probably over. Lang, Minnemann and Donati possibly the last of the mega stars within drum world. Benny Greb is sensational.

    He’s 50.

He’s been at it a long time. Remember he played with Zappa THIRTY years ago.

And just to show creativity doesn't need a huge kit, the wife and I just caught the current incarnation of the Count Basie Orchestra, which features a recent Florida State Univ. grad named Robert Boone.

I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.

Technically highly proficient drummers - but not particularly original or "signature"-oriented.

I suppose if I ever heard them in more interesting musical contexts than the given ones, then perhaps.

Ice Age put out two albums and then hired a 15 year old drummer but never put out a third album.

Adam Betts from Three Trapped Tigers. I'm loving his 2016 solo album Colossal Squid. Lots of rhythmic ingenuity and fierceness.

    Baard Kolstad - Leprous
    Steve Judd - Karnivool
raw energy is unparalleled (given the musical context), more so from Judd. Both seem to be young still.

I forgot about Tobias. Adrian Belew knows good drummers. Reminds me I also liked Eric Slick in the previous version of the Power Trio

Confirming Kenny is not yet 40 for a while -

He also played with Felix Pastorius's band (related to some other famous Pastorius). And also the backbone of a rather amazing death metal band Imperial Triumphant. He *is* able to play anything.
