SOFTEN THE GLARE at ProgDay 2018!

SOFTEN THE GLARE at ProgDay 2018!

SOFTEN THE GLARE is what happens when different worlds collide. Guitarist Bon Lozaga has made a name for himself among jazz rock and progressive rock fans with his work in Pierre Moerlen’s Gong, Gongzilla and Tiny Boxes. He has also forayed into the jam band scene, playing with moe. and Umphreys McGee. Ryan Martinie is known as the bassist of Mudvayne, a heavy metal band that sold millions of albums and achieved global success. Now, along with drummer Mitch Hull, they form SOFTEN THE GLARE, an instrumental jazz/rock trio with elements of metal, funk, symphonic progressive and a touch of chaos!

Join SOFTEN THE GLARE for the twenty-fourth edition of ProgDay. ProgDay is a two day outdoor festival of progressive rock. ProgDay 2018 will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 1st and 2nd, at Storybook Farm in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. For more information, please visit us at www.progday.net.

To hear music from this year’s bands, please visit the ProgDay Music page (http://www.progday.net/ProgDay-Music.html).

    Thanks.

    Hey! Good to hear!
Shawn Persinger (Boud Deun) told me that they were an incredible live act!

Nice choice. That bass player sounds like a monster. My wife and I are looking forward to attending our first Progday (the weekend never worked with our schedule - this year it does!). Keep the picks coming.

Yes, they're great live. I've been trying to book them for the last two years, but they were never available. I'm glad they were finally able to do it this year.

Fantastic pick. Their album is killer. Ryan is a monster, and the other guys are great, too. I certainly hope to make it this year.

great debut album... one of the best of 2017

wish I could make it to one of these East Coast fests somehow
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Yes! It would sound great in a field in North Carolina! Not sure if I can make it this year, but this helps feed the fire...

As long as my body continues to handle it, you could book Yanni & I'd still attend, Michael.

    That said, these guys smoke!!

Something tells me Paul Sears would be ok with the idea if we tossed Yanni in instead.

Knowing Paul, he'd probably make a comment about either him bearing a gift for a Greek or that it's all Greek to him who gets tossed.
