    Vantomme "Vegir" -canterbury influenced prog

Great Canterbury influenced prog from belgian keyboardist Dominique Vantomme, featuring Michel Delville on guitars, the always great Tony Levin and Maxime Lenssens on drums.

I feel its spirit owing much to Matching Mole and Hatfield & the North but particularly laying closer to the Quiet Sun album.

It will be on top of my anual list for 2018. Have a listen.

Holy cow! This is some awesome stuff! Thanks for the heads up, I'm definitely getting this. I'm not sure if this is the band recording the track that's actually on the album, or if this is just a live run-through of it. But either way, it's kickass, and IMMEDIATELY kickass!

Yeah, this sounds very promising. Michel Delville is the guy from The Wrong Object, right?

    good stuff!

this seems like a possible candidate for best of 2018 already
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Very similar to what Accordo dei Contrari has being doing lately.

I like this very, very much, but I have a little complaint about the somewhat "colorless" production. It sounds like so many other jazz-fusion projects, played by session musicians, it doesn't give me the band feeling so much. I may be talking bollocks here, but that was my first impression (and the guitar is way behind, despite this being a fairly rock approach on the fusion sound.)
    Emmetropia is just stellar.
