But that way most people received 2 reminders, and the last thing we wanted was to look like we were nagging or begging!

Another thing:
Most donations automatically assign the star - but some don't. (It depends on the exact mechanism you use to make the donation.) So I go through the system manually about every 2 weeks or so to make sure that all stars have been correctly assigned - and if they haven't (such as Hugues and Carl in this last go-around) - I assign them manually.
But PLEASE - if you see that your star has not been correctly assigned to your profile, let me know that I've missed it - and I promise to fix it PDQ!

Slightly OT: has it been discussed before to raise the donation-level, so a part of the donation can be given to musicians who suffer from illness or other misfortune?
There are some threads about some of these musicians and I wonder if a construction like this might work better.
Just a thought. I realize the realisation of such a plan isn't easy.
