New Isildurs Bane album: Off the Radar

Isildurs Bane release a new album today, December 1st, called Off the Radar. It's an instrumental album, primarily based on keyboards old and new (form ARP, Moog and Mellotron to software) with quite a bit of woodwinds as a contrast.

Nice title. They have indeed been "off the radar" for a while!

    autobuy

heard a sample and it was excellent
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Aren't they working on an album with Peter Hammill and Tim Bowness?

IB just did their annual music gathering, IB Expo, which featured Peter Hammill and Tim Bowness, but also the amazing koto player Karin Nakagawa. Among the music played was a piece composed by IB's Katrine Amsler called "Quiet Music for Large Ensemble", which very briefly, but effectively, features Peter Hammill in a cameo appearance.

I'll get this once it hits the shores of America.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

Cover reminds me of the movie Tron

Received it yesterday and it makes clear the previous one with Hogarth was indeed a side-step.
On this instrumental album IB shows the influence from amongst others Frank Zappa again. It's at times a daring musical adventure.
This one takes a couple of turns to learn.

It is indeed music that shows IB's ability to vary themselves. Don't expect songs in the traditional sense.

On my third listen through Off The Radar, and very much enjoying it. The sound, man! All the different instruments can be heard so clearly. I love it. While not as immediate as Colours Not Found In Nature, there were still plenty of passages that hooked me right away. Subsequent listens have revealed more of what's going on; it'll definitely take some time to fully absorb what's happening here, and that's kinda what I was hoping for.

Kudos to Charlie Storm, who mixed the album amazingly well.

    It is an excellent mix.

The music itself is top-notch as well. I can never get enough of this stuff.
