Rosfest - PFM and Flor de Loto

I see that PFM is the Sunday headliner for Rosfest 2018.

While I have seen them 3 times, a fourth would be good!

I hope Flor de Loto is the 3rd band on Sunday, so I can possibly see them both. Unfortunate that they had to cancel at Progday but hope they can make this gig.

Along with Providence and Barock Project, this may be shaping up as one of the best Rosfests.

Unfortunately, Rosfest is usually the first weekend of May and this year is the same as most others (college graduations, weddings, and other activities) that usually preclude me from going to the festival.

Usually I would hope for a sellout, but hope that Sunday only tickets will be available.

    Promising lineup?

Much more attractive than this year, for me.

Nostalgia, you know, ain't what it used to be. Furthermore, they tells me, it never was.

From the RoSfest website (emphasis mine):

"We are happy to announce, pending permits to be granted by the US government, that Peruvian band Flor de Loto has been signed for ROSFest 2018! They will appear as the third band on Sunday, May 6th."

You had me really excited, until I checked their website. Still, I'll likely be attending next year.

What on the website curbed your enthusiasm?

I saw that it wasn't in fact Providence, who I would love to see, but Special Providence, who I haven't heard.

Well, I should get to see them, and soak in all that greatness. Still, given the choice to see a band that I've enjoyed since the 90s or a new "discovery," I'll choose the old fave every time.

At least the Japanese Providence are active again as "Providence Tribute Project" (Madoka Tsukada with a new lineup).

Special Providence are from Hungary and do rather a mix of Jazz - Trance - Progmetal (and sound great at that)
