I love the picture... although the lettering is another matter. It fits Dean's Yes-album-planet. There are references to Drama and maybe Tales. The cats crossing the stepping stones represent how the album is "live across America".

Sorry, the cover and lettering are horrific. A hodgepodge of Dean cut-outs thrown together in terrible pastels, and off balance. The sky makes no artistic sense whatsoever. It's hard for me to even look at it.
This should teach me not to open any Yes-related threads anymore.
I was going to look for examples to explain to MITM why Dean's skies are the way they are, but came across this which is a better use of bandwidth.

I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.
I think that's one of the best looking covers Dean has done in awhile. On this new Yes one.
The vinyl is rather expensive, I'm hoping it will come down in price. (Don't tell them I'll buy it anyway)

If Squire were on this I would be interested. But, no.
I always thought those were house cats on the cover of Drama.
I think the cover is Dean's best work in a while (though I like the cover for White Willow's Future Hopes a lot also).
Which is a shame because there's no chance I'd ever buy this album. I would probably consider it had they done the whole Tales album (like they did with every other album on these complete album tours). As it is, I already have great versions of Revealing and Ritual from better times in their career (IMO, of course).
It almost seems to me like someone else had a hand in that cover. Something just doesn't look right. I would expect RD to have more harmony among the elements. It has a copy-and-paste feel to it.
"The White Zone is for loading and unloading only. If you got to load or unload go to the White Zone!"
Mostly surprised this isn't called "Like It Is III," since it does continue that series.
I'm not sure I understand what elements are clashing in this picture. Maybe someone could explain it to me...?
You're not missing anything. As you already stated, this is a Yes thread. It's where people go to shit on whatever's being discussed.
What's funny is that everyone here is bitching about this gaudy and cluttered cover, and over on the Downes-Braide thread they're bitching about that album's subdued and monochromatic cover. I imagine Roger Dean lurking in this forum and screaming "What do you want me to DO???"
