Is Pink Floyd's "Pulse" the only CD ever put out that lights up?

I carried that one in the car when I went on the seedy sides/hoods of Brussels and didn't want to get my car stolen (had no alarm)

That blinking red LED in my dashboard and my Paletinian scarf on top of it always got the job done.

I tried replacing the bazttery once it died, but it didn't work anymore, so I got rid of the album (seriously, I'd bought the DVD anyways)
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

Mine was ruined by a leaky battery after only a couple of years.

There was a deluxe edition of Zimmer's soundtrack to "Interstellar" that came housed in a box that flashes lights in (I think) a morse code pattern. It's actually quite snazzy, albeit excessive...

If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

I'm on my fourth or fifth battery. A couple of them leaked, but the residue is removable.

I found my copy and replaced the battery, and it didn't work.

Until I realised they'd messed up the circuit and you had to the put the battery in the wrong way round! Once I did that it worked.

Not when it corrodes the contacts so there's no connection to the light.

Huh. I was curious. Opened it up. Took at the two corroded batteries. Put two fresh batteries in. It still pulses. Put it back on the shelf. Looked at it for like a second. Said to myself, Yup. And then took it off the shelf and took the batteries out.
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.

Not sure the blinking LED on a CD case is worth six batteries.

Of course, if they fuck up the circuit and you have to put the battery the wrong way in...

I'm kind of amazed that people have actually bothered to replace the batteries in that Pulse CD case. I just assumed it wasn't designed to be replaced and accepted the end of the blinking a year or two after I got the album.

Of course, now you guys have me wondering if maybe I should give it a try............

It's really easy. The inside of the box pulls out, with a little jiggering (push on the LED). With it comes the batteries (2 x AA) and the LED & circuit board, all mounted on a steel tray. Slide the steel tray out of the cardboard sleeve, replace the batteries (+ toward the LED) and reassemble.

    Use good quality batteries.

I bothered because it's the only CD in my collection with an LED!

The "Pulse" LED kept me up at night so many years ago I yanked the mechanism and like the fellow above, placed it in my truck to look like a car alarm.
Two things have remained the same:
I still don't like live Pink Floyd tracks and my truck has never been stolen.

Get about 4 years per battery change. No leaks. it's the only one in my collection that blinks and my young kids in my family (nephews and nieces and once upon a time, my kids) all ask about it. A great way to introduce them to Pink Floyd.

European construction was somehow different... It was an arduous and precise job to extract the PCB out of the bottom of the box

Cool. I found this clip which demonstrates how the lights work (and how to replace the batteries):

Nifty! I haven't checked recently to see if the lights are burned out but I'll certainly replace them in due time

In unrelated news...wow that is a very detailed breakdown of the set.

It's one of my favorite Zimmer scores and it was worth the extra bucks for the fancier set.
