I haven't heard/read a single negative word from either Ian or Martin about the other.

It does seem they have no interest in playing with each other again, but so what? They did that for 42 years. Maybe enough is just enough. No hate required.

You must live in NARNIA, read on the internet............

MB: It was messy, badly handled, mismanaged and hurtful - but that happens.

Wow. That guy was Svetonio on steroids.

My question to him in #128 was not at all intended to dispute his perspective. I was just seeking information. He could have provided the one quote he had on this and I would have said "thank you".

I actually just posted on this issue in the other Jethro Tull thread - post #76. There is plenty of evidence that Martin Barre is very unhappy about the way he was treated by IA, and appears adamant that an understanding was reached whereby Jethro Tull does not exist as long as he's not in the band.

You won't. But somebody else will.
(Did I just, almost appropriately, turn this into a country song?)
(I think I did. Unintentional, I assure you.)

Thank you. That info helps a lot to understand the situation. It seems that Martin has sincerely moved on. Hurt feelings, yes. Hatred, no.

I read on FB that tickets for a 50th anniv show on Sept. 11, 2018 at the Beacon theater go on sale this Saturday. Does anyone have a presale code, and details on when you can use it? I never get squat from the Tull mailing list!

According to the site presale starts 11/16 (this thursday) at 10am, but it doesn't give a presale code. I'm sure there'll be a Chase or Visa presale, but probably also a fan code?

    EDIT:

Oops, ticketbastard does give this info:

    Live Nation Mobile App Presale
Start: Thu 11/16/17 10:00 am EST
End: Fri 11/17/17 10:00 pm EST
    Chase Cardmember Preferred Seating
Start: Thu 11/16/17 11:00 am EST
End: Fri 11/17/17 10:00 pm EST
    Local Presales
Start: Thu 11/16/17 11:00 am EST
End: Fri 11/17/17 10:00 pm EST
    Live Nation Presale
Start: Thu 11/16/17 11:00 am EST
End: Fri 11/17/17 10:00 pm EST

I guess Livenation mobile app is the way to go?

Who is actually in Tull nowadays other than the lead flautist that is from the 70s/early 80s lineups? I have lost touch with what the latest incarnations have been....

^^^ I believe Ian's solo band of the last few years has now morphed into Tull. At least the guitarist sort of looks like a young version of Martin!

Alas, if Ian Anderson could only still sing Aqualung!

Whipped out the Tull Christmas Album - I don't care wot anybody says - I like it!

Weathercock is flippin great on it (albeit in 2003ish Ian voice)
If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap.
