The Bottomless Pit with Marshall Crenshaw

I used to listen to The Big Broadcast on WFUV radio on Sunday nights, but just now found out the host died last year. Apparently they got Marshall Crenshaw (I forget who he is!) to do a show to replace it. I'm listening to last Sunday's show and it seems quite good.

Wondering if any of you listened to The Big Broadcast (which was a treasure!) and if you listen to The Bottomless Pit how do you find it as a replacement?

Marshall Crenshaw played John in a Beatlemania show, then had the hit Someday, Someway. Sort of a less nerdy looking Buddy Holly.

I know somewhat about Marshall Crenshaw. He's currently touring with Los Straitjackets.

Didn't he play Buddy Holly in La Bamba?

    YUP!

I've always liked him and his writing, used to cover a song of his called "Cynical Girl", and he also did a great cover of the doowop classic "What Time Is It?" by The Jive Five.
