Here are a bunch that are for consideration:
Nova Collective - The Further Side
Bubblemath - Edit Peptide
Dean Watson - Sum Of Parts
MediaBanda - Bombas en el Aire
Zombie Frogs - Multiply
Utopianisti - Brutopianisti
Kinky Wizzards - Quirky Musings
Accordo dei Contrari - Violato Intatto
Shob - Karma Obscur
Holy crap, how could I have forgotten that one in my list? Superb album, will definitely be among my top albums for 2017. Need to dig it out for some fresh spins.
Surprised to read these guys have a new album out so soon. I absolutely loved Third Frontier from last year. Doing a little digging I found the new album on Youtube and a review on Prog Archives. Uh oh. Apparently this is a 31 minute experiment in musical brutality. I've listened to the first 13 minutes and I'm about ready to stick a pencil in my ear. Obviously stuff like this will appeal to some, but not me, and I'm especially not spending a lot on a 31 minute album... this is getting ridiculous. Listen for yourself here, if you dare:

Heard a bit from these guys that sounded promising. Need to hear more, and I haven't seen the album listed anywhere for sale.

Putting off a favourite until I hear the new Cheer Accident. Nonetheless, I am particularly loving Oxbow's Thin Black Duke and Prescott's Thing Or Two.
Cloud becomes your Hand "Rest in Fleas"
So far, this album is the one for me.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

Nova Collective
To be honest when I first saw the rec from, I think Udi I gave it a 30 second listen and my initial feeling was this was really pretentiously quirky for sake of being quirky. (Not a good thing) But, since I respect the opinions of many around here I downloaded it anyway thinking I would give it a fair shot when I can actively listen to it but frankly, wasn't in a hurry to hear it. I thought to myself this sort of shit has been done to death and all hipsters can choke on their own snot for all I care.
Anyway, fast forward about a week. I just gave this a good listen and I'm willing to say the following:
"strip me bare of all misgivings and forgive me father for I have uttered blasphemous words of unfounded deceit and negativity...for Rest in Fleas is bloody amazin!!! It's actually a retro record for me...it reminds me of them good ole days of listening to bands like Better Than Death, The Blitzoids, very early Doc Nerve...shit like that, when this stuff was fresh, new and vibrant...intead of the stale rank hipster caca that it is now"

Just got the new John Zorn, Midsummer Moon and its excellent!
Here's a description from Discogs:
For millennia the moon has been a subject of deep fascination— a symbol of love, lust, madness and dreams. More than a passive observer, it is a powerful force whose brilliant luminosity exerts an intoxicating effect upon the winds, the tides, our emotions and more. This dark and moody CD of music inspired by Shakespearian Lunar imagery features ten lyrical compositions evoking the magic of Sister Moon. Stunningly performedby two of the most fabulous new guitarists working today—Julian Lage and Gyan Riley, this is a beautiful and heartfelt program of music for late night contemplation on a romantic midsummer evening.
