The Claus Ogerman Orchestra - Time Passed Autumn (3-Part Suite)

CLAUS OGERMANN - Concerto for Orchestra - I Introduction, Giocoso

His "jazz" is so close to classical that I thought about putting this in the Prog discussion section, since
Prog also veers close to classical.

First heard his work on an Antonio Carlos Jobim album in the 70's, "Urubu". As I recall, the entire second side of the album is orchestral. Need to revisit soon.

In my mind Ogermann has always been MOR, more akin to Don Sebesky, Paul Mauriat, Acker Bilk, Horst Jankowski, Percy Faith, Henry Mancini.

Although the tracks you have posted here are certainly better than the Muzak I associate him with.

I have the album Cityscape that he did with Michael Brecker in the early 80's. Need to give that a close listen soon.

Gate of Dreams is timeless. Sublime music.
