Good stuff, I've been recording a lot of Ambient guitar stuff myself after discovering Bill Vencil's Chords Of Orion channel on Youtube.

I am in agreement. For my tastes, it has too many ambient sounds.

The trend to embed water sounds, bird calls, and other natural sounds in Ambient music is, in my opinion, extremely overdone. Ever try to listen to "Spa Channel" on XM/Sirius. I call it the bird chirping channel.

So I knocked out a bunch of ambient improvs this summer while breaking in the SY-300 (linked in my sig for the past few months). Left my favorites up on Bandcamp as a new "album." I love all of these each in a special and different way.

And here's a bit of nonsense. First time I rolled tape with the Fernandes Burny. I had looped a Frippy sounding loop that I really liked, so I hit record and noodled for a bit playing with the sustainer pickup. Just found this the other night along with the track above. Lot of sustainy sustaining.

I must admit I am a little disappointed re the Chords Of Orion album. There are many 'meditations' on Bill's You Tube channel that are superior to those included. But its all a matter of opinion, sometimes I've recorded something which I don't like much but go back to it later and think it's quite good...

That is a plug-in effect, right? I'm looking for a way to create that kind of diffuse, attackless effect with a pedal (I'm tactile that way)

Yes the setup included a Mac with Apple MainStage to host the plugins.

For HW go for a Styrmon Big Sky and/or Eventide H9, and using the shimmer effect (big animated reverb, delays feeding pitch shifters).

You create the basic timbre with the input signal - in my case, the nylon string guitar provided a wooden tone, making the result very much string-section-ish. Clean electric gives a horn character. In yester years I used Eventide rack units (like Robert Fripp in his later Frippertronics setups), but I do it all ITB now.

I got myself the Mooer Ocean Machine, learning how to get to grips with it now and really enjoying it.
