Atlanta- "A Night of Prog LIVE" #2 RECAP!

Hey, local prog fans!

You may recall last year I hosted a local jam night that focused solely on progressive rock. A rotating cast of 20+ local prog loving musicians played 3+ hours of classics.

It went over great and everyone brought their "A" Game. So much so that we decided to do it again this year at a larger venue more befitting of such epic music.

So we are glad to announce #2 will be held March 24th (a Friday) at The Avondale Towne Cinema in Avondale Estates (it's an area of Atlanta next to Decatur). The Cinema is a historic venue and has ample room for even the biggest drum and keys rigs.

We will be playing a lot of epics this year like Close To The Edge, Supper’s Ready, Starless, Tarkus and 2112. The remainder of the night will focus on 'shorter' tunes like Red Nightmare, Magnum Opus, Dance on a Volcano/Los Endos, Yours Is No Disgrace, Lunar Sea!, Starship Trooper, Freewill, And You and I, Siberian Khatru, Circumstances, Prologue, Xanadu and more! It’s going to be a rare night to hear all that at the same venue. Hope you can join us. Drop by and support local music and local prog! An epic night is on tap!

OK, you might get me on this one. How much are tickets? What time does it start? Is their parking? Do I need to bring my 6'2" son with his Glock to keep us safe?

I'm not on FB so I can't scope out Another Red Nightmare, but I saw some video from your last Prog show and you all kicked ass. Hoping for a great turnout and maybe a little video here and there for those of us out of state/area.

Thanks! And agreed. I'm pretty impressed with the rehearsals so far. Granted, if we were a tribute everything would be letter perfect. But this will get darn close, and considering the short prep time that in it's self will be a triumph and a testament to the quality of these local musicians. In fact, some songs didn't get a group rehearsal at all.... And those that did only got one or two, tops. It's going to make for a really entertaining night of live music, that's for sure, regardless where the chips fall.
