^ He WAS there. He's a huge Magma fan, and a considerable Hammill and Krims fan as well.
I believe Steve F. spoke to him on that occasion. Apparently Jello keeps a number of Steve's releases for jolly listening.

Late last year I saw producer Bob Rock along with his ex Payola$ bandmate Paul Hyde at a Alan Doyle (formerly of Great Big Sea) concert.
I remember tomorrow
I was there as well and got my pic with Arthur. I'd interviewed him months before for the VdGG book I co-wrote. Going to see him tonight in Chicago! ArthurBrown.jpg
Jello gave me a few quotes for a Hammill bio I wrote for the NearFest program. I saw Dead Kennedys in the mid 80s on their Frankenchrist tour in Chicago. It was one of the best concerts I've ever seen in my life, they were brilliant. For any prog fans that look down on some of the classic punk bands, you're missing out on some great stuff. Doesn't surprise me that JB would be a selective prog fan (he's into Magma, VdGG, Hawkwind), he's pretty clued-in.
I was in a band for ca. one month with B. Rock's Norwegian nephew, Alex.
No joke. It was back in 1991 when Alex was living in Bergen, my hometown. He had been the drummer for my roommate's band, Sisyfos (retro-hard rock), and joined my own trio (Calvary, later Great Space) somewhat reluctantly. He promptly disappeared into organized religion, and the last I heard of him was in 2004 when another buddy of mine was forced to break off from his girlfriend due to the latter's process of repentance as a follower of Ba'hai - in which ol' Al is apparently some sort of high-priest on national level.
Weird world, isn't it?

Stop reminding me about that! He was apparently at the after show party back at the hotel, I probably walked past him like a hundred times and didn't even know it! Dammit!
Not that I'm a huge fan or anything, but I still think it might have been cool to hang out with Jello Biafra.
I sat behind Joe Elliott at Mott The Hoople's Birmingham gig a couple of years back. Also sat next to Bev Bevan at Bonnie Raitt.
Have seen KK Downing at a few metal gigs in smaller venues, he helps out a couple of local bands.

Joe Jackson at a Devo concert - Radio City Music Hall - early 80's
Pat Martino at a Brand X show - Havana, New Hope PA - September 2016
Back in the mid '80's, I was teaching at a Mom & Pop music store called Blue Note Music in Long Branch NJ. Tal Farlow was also teaching there at the time. He and I became good friends.......I had a solo acoustic GTR gig at a local restaurant....so I look up between songs and there he is... TAL FARLOW checking ME out !!!........bullets of sweat soon followed !

I've see a couple musicians at other events besides gigs. Saw Howard Kaylan (Turtles, Flo & Eddie) at a Science Fiction convention. And Chris Isaak at a Film Noir festival.
Todd Rundgren was seated behind me at the Tubes first NYC show in '76 iirc

Alan White shows up a lot here in Seattle. He was at Steve Hackett a couple years ago and I think he was at Stick Men in January this year.
Yeah he does.
I've run into him in the venue bars, bathrooms, and seats at a number of shows dating back to the early '90s. I've had a few conversations with him over the years. He's a real nice guy.
Some that immediately come to mind are:
The first Van Halen reunion tour with DLR
Genesis- We Can't Dance Tour
Spinal Tap
David Bowie
Cheap Trick
Jethro Tull
Kansas
Now that you've opened it up a bit, I saw Elvis Costello and Cait O'Riorden at an ASPCA Dog Walk in the 80s at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park (I used to organize the volunteers to set up and take down that event). I chatted with them for a while, and since it was just about dogs and stuff it was fun - they were very nice.
Interesting that you associate him with ST instead of Metallica. Not that I know anything about ST... is he more well-known with them?
I've never seen a well-known musician at another's gig, but I always like hearing musicians tell about gigs they attended, perhaps before they became famous... such as Geddy and Alex of Rush attending a Led Zep concert in 1969 in Toronto.
You say Mega Ultra Deluxe Special Limited Edition Extended Autographed 5-LP, 3-CD, 4-DVD, 2-BlueRay, 4-Cassette, five 8-Track, MP4 Download plus Demos, Outtakes, Booklet, T-Shirt and Guitar Pick Gold-Leafed Box Set Version like it's a bad thing...
I remember Alex saying that he saw Cream back in 68 or whenever it was, but he said he was disappointed because they didn't play the songs like they were on the record. I guess even back then, he didn't like the jamming.
I also remember Mickey Hart telling a story about seeing Cream with Jerry Garcia. He said that Jerry looked at him at one point in the show, and said "Is this best band in the world, or what?", and Mickey responded, "Tonight, they are!".
Another interesting story was about the Merry Pranksters (the weirdos who hung around novelist Ken Kesey back in the 60's) going, en masse, to see The Beatles at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. Apparently, they had some sort of plan to turn John, Paul, George, and Ringo onto LSD that night. But Kesey wigged out, started getting paranoid, and ordered everyone to leave before The Beatles even came on.
Iguana- yes, that is Stella Vander and Isabelle Feuillebois (and Francis Linon behind) with Robert Trujillo of Metallica. Major fan, he is.

that red herring was entirely intentional :-)>
ST … thrash/skate-punk-legends, crossover pioneers, great fun in the late 1980s/early1990s. mike muir was always a blast on stage … their side project iNFECTiOUS GROOVES was good too. trujillo became first known as their bass player and graduated to METALLiCA afterwards, replacing jzn nwstd.
Living in Worcestershire, Robert Plant can occasionally be seen at gigs in the Midlands.
The last time I saw him was a couple of years ago quietly standing at the back of the room to see Terry Reid at the Robin in Wolverhampton.
What Is And What Could Have Been.
She walks like a bearded rainbow.
I stood near Adrian Belew at a ProjeKCt Three gig in Austin, TX during SXSW and spotted Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins at a Kiss reunion show in Detroit, MI.
If you count the cast & orchestra of "Cats" as musicians, my ex and I actually had a conversation at intermission with Carol Channing and her 30-something (hired?) boy toy. She was very friendly and my ex & I did a pretty good job of not chuckling at both her "escort" and her voice (which I found out wasn't a professional affectation).
