    Greyfeather!!

    Front Cover.jpg

Greyfeather is an art-rock collaboration among members of Cobweb Strange, Farpoint, Iluvatar, IZZ, and Little Atlas, recorded over several years and thousands of miles. The seeds of the band that would become Greyfeather were planted in the early 2000s through a shared deep and abiding love of music and a belief in the power of music to convey emotion in a way that no other artistic medium can. Although it has been a long time in the works, through various hardships, and across many years and thousands of miles, things have finally come together, and Greyfeather's self-titled debut album is set for release on February 10, 2017.

    Greyfeather is:
Brian Coralian - drums and percussion
Kevin Jarvis - acoustic guitars, vocals
    Steve Katsikas- keyboards, vocals
    Dennis Mullin- electric guitars
    Wade Summerlin- bass, vocals

    Thanks for posting, Prog Doc!

As you said, release date is this Friday! And a few of us will be on the Prog Doc's radio show at House of Prog that evening to talk about the album. We are really excited about this release...It's been a long time coming. For anyone interested, on Friday it will be available through CD BABY, as well as all the usual outlets like iTunes, etc. Also both Syn-phonic and Kinesis will be carrying the CD.

And in case anyone didn't see the link, here's the sampler video:

I know Steve pretty well, and also have talked with both Kevin and Brian on more than one occasion, but the main reason I am about to buy this is if I don't, some crazed Italian woman scoutmaster in Louisville will harass me too much.

I'm so sorry...The interview and the full album was aired last Friday. It may be archived somewhere...I'll check. However, I do understand he's going to play some of the music from the new album tomorrw. I believe the show starts at 8 pm eastern.

Will be in today's mail from Larry @ Kinesis.

Jed - my lame joke referenced (the other) Steve K's wife Joanna, who I love (& Kay loved). God forbid there should be any ambiguity here on PE.

    I freakin' love it, Kev!

I almost e-mailed Katsikas earlier to tell him that I've never heard his voice sound quite as good as on "Life Sonnet #4". He lurks enough to read it here.

I also really dug your Native American inspired writing, Kev.

Have you 5 guys ever been in the same room playing?

Thanks so much Steve, that's great to hear!

No, we've never all been in a room together. Brian and Wade recorded their parts at different times at my studio, and Steve and Dennis, although I have met them both at festivals, recorded their parts at their homes and sent them to me. Needless to say, we are pretty happy with how cohesive and organic the whole thing ended up sounding, considering the method of recording. I think it's largely because everyone just listened and contributed what they felt the song needed. We had no preconceptions or "goals" to try to reach with the finished product, apart from wanting to make something good.

Thanks for the kind words Other-Steve-K and others! (Joanna says HI!). This was a reallyn enjoyable project made with new musical friends (though I've known Kevin for a bit). I think a very interesting thing about Greyfeather it is that we sound very different than any of our respective other bands. Its so not "Farpoint+Izz+CobwebStrange+LittleAtlas+Illuvi tar" (at least in my opinion). It sounds like...Greyfeather.

First review, from Shockwave magazine...My favorite compliment: "After listening to it numerous times, I was trying to come up with some band comparisons for them. None came to mind, and that’s what intrigued me the most, the originality of this disc."

    Latest review: http://www.streetclip.tv/magazine/de...r-greyfeather/

It's in German, but according to Google's translation, the summary is: "a beautiful, entertaining album."
    We'll take that.
