Oh, damn, I forgot about that one. So do we have any other runners up in the "Hanna Barbera's dumb ideas" category?

I will match any stupidity from Hanna Barbera against the Krofts' magical fucking flute in HR Puffnstuff. I remember watching that with my brother and it got so we were hoping someone would throw the damn flute in a volcano and end the idiocy.
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

You'd have to do a lot more than merely disposing of the flute to "end the idiocy" on that show. Some of those Kroft shows were trippy, but I could have done without all the song and dance numbers.

Expunged: Krofft made up for anything errant they may have done when they got Joy from The Bugaloos

I never "got" any of the Krofft stuff, but always managed to catch The Bugaloos.

I still can't believe Charlotte Rae, of all people, was on that show.

Edit: Dammit! I Knew that didn't seem right. Charlotte Rae was on The Facts Of Life. Martha Raye was on The Bugaloos, and the only reason I think seems weird is because when she passed away, she was buried at Arlington, with full military honors, due to her USO work during WWII, Korea and Vietnam.

the coolest unintended by-product of Kroft was the McDonalds characters and their land. Then McDonalds got sued...

They made up for Captain Caveman with Hong Kong Phooey,....however, they would practically have to do Manga in order to recoup the horrors of Godzooky and Scrappy Doo

It could have been both frankly. It was a hot mess to behold, that's for certain.

Captain Caveman had the one chick that would drive away all animals from a three mile radius.

It would have better without the "rock band" motif.

I still say the Kiss movie was pretty much rock bottom for Hanna Barbera.

Other way around, Sid and Marty sued McDonald's, because Mayor McCheese was a little too much like HR Puffnstuff.

That's probably why she said "McDonald's got sued."

Always loved Hanna Barbera cartoons in the 60s (Flintstones, Jetsons, Johnny Quest, Space Ghost). Scooby Doo is where they started losing the plot.

Well, it would have worked out better if it weren't for those meddling kids!
