Love it! Do you think we should trademark and copyright this title for future use?

Should be pretty much available anywhere Sean, we got stock last week.

Chicago II is one of my favorite albums but the original version sounded horrible and was tough to listen to. I bought SW's version immediately and it's great, especially in headphones.

The front cover and the disc inside reveal this album as,CHICAGO. There is no II or 2 anywhere on this cd. I think that when I bought Chicago Transit Authority and Chicago at the same time on vinyl in 1970, the band regarded this as the first Chicago album in a literal sense. We call it Chicago II like we refer to Led Zeppelin IV or The Beatles as the White Album.

Some later pressings of the second album had the title as Chicago II.

I have the original vinyl that I bought as a kid. I never thought it sounded bad. How does the SW remix compare?

I just found a NM LP copy for a buck and I agree it's not that bad sounding. Compared with some of the Wilson mix clips on YT the new mix is definitely less strident at times. It's a more balanced sounding but I don't find it a drastic difference across the whole album.

Eeeesh. Listening to Free Form Effing Guitar right now. CTA is a hell of an album. Their best, hands down.

Bought the SW remix, listened to it, then played my old 2002 remastered CD from several years ago. What a difference!! The SW remix made my old CD sound like a cheap cassette... Too bad SW didn't remix the two bonus tracks from my old CD: the single versions of "Make Me Smile" and "25 or 6 to 4".

Ditto the third album, called "Chicago" or ""Chicago III" on different pressings.

Finally got around to hearing this version and once again I'm amazed at the amount of space and depth Wilson is capable of achieving with his remixes. I will be picking this up. Now, only if he'd remix 1 & 3.

A little late to the game (*unless I posted it in the other thread), my review, written after I picked up the 24/96 HDTracks version, can be found here.

Your first mistake was listening to the 2002 remaster. The original 1980's cd sounds much nicer.

My local library had a copy of that original release CD years ago. I borrowed it and made a tape copy; I remember I thought it sounded like shit back then. I wound up buying the remaster and while some of it improved tracks like Girl From Buchannon and 25 or 6 to 4 still sounded muddy as hell to me. The original '80s release is OOP but there's 3 availale on Amazon for over $36, $42 and $56. I'm pretty sure it's available elsewhere for more and it probably sounds glorious.
Compact Disk brought high fidelity to the masses and audiophiles will never forgive it for that

Wow, this escaped my notice! A defining album for me in my teens playing bass, played most of these songs in a half-dozen different bands throughout the 70's. Never was thrilled with the sound on II, the bass seemed to lack the punch and presence it had on CTA.
You say Mega Ultra Deluxe Special Limited Edition Extended Autographed 5-LP, 3-CD, 4-DVD, 2-BlueRay, 4-Cassette, five 8-Track, MP4 Download plus Demos, Outtakes, Booklet, T-Shirt and Guitar Pick Gold-Leafed Box Set Version like it's a bad thing...

    Good Day Garden Dreamer!

Yeah! The bass playing of Cetera is exceptional and seriously underappreciated?? It must have been a lot of fun playing his parts!

^^ Cetera’s playing is very prominent on Carnegie Hall. He sounds great!
