I just read this somewhere else. I'm shocked and saddened. Jaki was the greatest drummer. Rest in peace.
We're trying to build a monument to show that we were here
It won't be visible through the air
And there won't be any shade to cool the monument to prove that we were here. - Gene Parsons, 1973
Such a powerful rhythm section on those CAN albums. Amazing stuff, really. R.I.P.

so much for 2017 not being like 2016.
And another great drummer, Mike Kellie (Spooky Tooth, The Only Ones), died a few days ago.
Extremely sad. I was a big fan of his drumming, sort of very busy and all over the place, yet never losing the beat. For sure he was one of a kind!

What!?
RIP
Fuck you 2017
The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off
F*cking son-of-a-b*tch! A huge loss even if he was 78. Such a singular force on drums. Grrrrr...
RIP, damn, love those first 6 albums

I blame Wynton, what was the question?
There are only 10 types of people in the World, those who understand binary and those that don't.
Not to mention Michael Rother's solo albums. A true giant of the "motorik" beat.
Loved Can since the early 70's and the percussion he provided..
RIP man
R.I.P. Jaki Leibezeit.

I'll be spinning a lot of CAN this week.... hey, while on the subject, is the compilation album Unlimited Edition worth grabbing?

Sad news, great, influential player.

Pura Vida!.
There are two kinds of music. Good music, and the other kind. ∞
Duke Ellington.
I've always said that Jaki was the soloist and CAN were just the backing band.

It’s not essential but it is enjoyable. Hit and miss, as most “rarities and unreleased” albums tend to be, but better than most. Also better than their post-Flowmotion output, so get it after you have everything up to then.
Holger, Irmin, Malcolm and Damo, I think.
