Just got the Roland SE-02 as a 50% off retail deal on Black Friday! I was thinking of getting the Boog, though I preferred the SH-02 for a number of reasons - so the BF deal came in handy

It sounds really good and moog:ish enough for me (though many prefer the Boog for being even closer to the original), but its a drag to tweak - being able to save patches is a necessity (and the big drawback for the almost equally minuscule Boog) and I look forward to try the parameter sequencer! The added beyond-minimoog-features of the Studio Electronics design makes it even more interesting.

    Nice! Thanks for sharing.

Here's another one from the same program:

Makes me curious about Jacco Gardner's new album Somnium: https://jaccogardner.bandcamp.com/album/somnium
I like his first two albums: fine psychedelic pop. But the new CD is an instrumental kind of concept-album.

I'm rather curious as well. The pieces on television are from his new album.

Uli Behringershowed a photo of the productionof the Odyssey recently over on the gearsl*tz forum, and it looks like they are in full production, so wouldn't surprise me if they're in retail/online shops soon.
I have the Korg Full Size Rev 1 and slim key Rev 1 version and I have to say they nailed the Odyssey sound. And yes, it is full size.
I think if I didn't have the Korg, I'd be all over this, especially at a suggested retail price of $499USD(not official yet).

Wow! Where did you score that deal?

I got one from Sweetwater for 20% off. Just listened to the presets so far. Haven't had time to program it yet.

Sorry but you can't! It was a Black Friday deal from a Swedish music store chain. I guess they wanted to clear their stock and were delayed 30 min or so removing the deal. It lasted long enough to go viral - lots of more orders than the stock lasted were placed, so they had to restock quite a few to handle those orders. The day after the SE-02 was back to normal price.

I feel better, too. The Sweetwater deal goes until 12/31 if anyone in the US wants to get one of these for somewhat cheaper than normal.

    Guitarists beware...

This now 70yo guy outshreds any guitarist... Watch and learn! Yes, it's Hans Lundin of original and modern Kaipa (not the Roine Stolt edition).

FYI, our keyboardist just sent back his third Sequential Circuits Prophet X .

    All three were dropping voices.
no tunes, no dynamics, no nosebone

I remember reading an interview with Eddie Jobson, who complained about the Prophet 5 and who stated the Prophet 10 was just doubling the trouble, which was why he prefered the CS80.

My new mixer funded from the sale of my Tascam 308B 8 channel mixer.
The Soundcraft Signature 22MTK integrates with your DAW and allows one to mix all your DAW tracks on the mixer and produce a stereo 2 track finished song.

Interesting, to bad it's rather dark.

I still remember when the Korg MS20 was released. I just had my first synthesizer and then there suddenly was a synthesizer that offered more, for the price I paid for my Roland System 100 model 101.

I was thinking about picking up an Alesis SR 18 from a local Craigs List dude who's offering it for $170 in excellent condition. Good reviews on this unit - any thoughts on alternatives for adding drum sounds for recording purposes or should I jump on it? Thanks.

    Indeed!

This is more intriguing... both the synth dance and the music!

The funny thing is the contrast between the light synth pop music and Townsend/LeRoth coreography - and of course that he obviously kept going all the way into the night
