    Miss you more than ever.

Listening to Crux Of The Biscuit this morning. Great collection of early 70s morsels, especially Yellow Snow suite from Sydney '73. and the extended Apostrophe track.

RIP They didn't make many like him.

I knew a guy who would listen to his albums in order from his death (Dec. 4) to his birthday (Dec. 21) every year.

Can't believe it's been that long.

I'm so glad I was lucky enough to see him five times, which is probably why I miss him more than any other musician.

    Continue to RIP, Frank.

Might as well post in this one too...

RIP to one of a kind. I got into him shortly after he died when RollingStone had an article about him; he died and they had fucking Nirvana on the cover! That got a lot of letters over that.

Frank has been my #1 since I was a teenager; I am now a "gentleman of a certain age". It's been nearly a lifetime of being a passionate fan of his music. His passing at such a young age has given us the opportunity to catch up to what he was doing.

A lot of good music. Gallons of laughs.
(Think I'll cue up "Dun-Dun-Dun" [Road Tapes, Helsinki].)

Wow it's been that long? My dad passed away in 1991 and it seems like forever ago sadly.

Yep. I just saw this on my facebook feed(and from someone who's not even a prog fan but that's how respected he was). Thanks for posting. Here is my specific comment: Big Frank fan. One of THE icons of progressive rock, experimental rock and jazz rock/fusion. Thanks for posting.

I was actually listening to "Hot Rats" in my car on my way to mom's for Thanksgiving. What a great album and really just as important(imo) as that other album that was released the same day.

    RIP indeed.

I always wonder what he would have made of the country in the late 90s through today. I'm sure he'd have no end of amazingly insightful and crude/funny things to say about it. We lost not only a great musician but one of the best minds of the 20th century.

Only got to see him once (1988) but I'm very glad to see Dweezil carrying on with his music in spite of his family.

Agreed. I saw him in '84. The only time.

'84 Des Moines for me. Dweezil twice now, both times with my daughter.

I remember this day all too well, as it kicked me in the gut. Frank Zappa is the man. He changed my life, for the better. I also badly miss his biting socio/politcal commentary, more needed than ever in 2016.
    CRANK SOME FRANK!

I forget whether it was '77 or '78 when we saw him @ Cole Porter House Md. Incredible show.. Like many.. miss him.. often ask of both Hendrix and Zappa "what if".. where would they have taken their music at this point..

I doubt he's resting in peace, what with the turmoil in the ZFT.

Very sad to think about. Hard to believe it was that long ago now.

Love Frank's music, and also have a great deal of affection and sympathy for him as a human being (based on what I've seen and read). A true genius in music. Whether he felt it was important to be remembered or not, we will remember him.
