I had read about the "Original Artist Series" from Rhino Entertainment Company you know the 3fers and 5fers. So went to Amazon and looked up various artist and read reviews etc. Several bands etc. that I for one reason or another had not replaced vinyl or have incomplete collections... so I remedied that via 3 purchases this past week.. First 5 albums, from Kansas, Al Di Meola and Jean Luc Ponty's.. granted there's no elaborate packaging with these releases but that doesn't bother me a bit.. cardboard sleeves.. and they averaged out to a little over $3 a piece.. hard to beat that price. I'll be looking into other artist offered in this series.. this followed on the heels of having spent an hour in my favorite used record / CD store on Friday and not finding a single item... which is rare for me.. Mac Davis' Greatest Hits looked inviting but I didn't fall for it..
Last week I bought:
Peter Gee - Heart of David
Found this rather cheap. I'm not sure I like the overly religios overtones in the lyrics, but since they are in English they don't bother me.

Finally bought Jean-Luc Ponty's "Cosmic Messenger" as a download. I added the CD of Bruford's "One of a Kind" to my shopping cart. Once I can find a couple other discs for an order, I'm getting it. In this case I'd prefer a download, but they don't have it on Amazon. At this point I only get CD's if I like the cover art and care about the liner notes. For fusion, why bother?
