    Iandian Summer album.............

I know a few of you enjoy this late 60s early 70s band from UK. Well here is news of a forthcoming release of unreleased studio and live music. Bit pricey but limited to 500 run.

INDIAN SUMMER album I meant to say

It's fairly good, that original release of theirs. They were from Brimingham and shared management with Sabbath, I believe. And the album was issued on Neon, wunnit?Haven't listened to this in years. Must pull out again soon.

Another interesting announcement. Looks like LP only at this point, right? In any case, I certainly enjoy their one album, especially the track 'From the Film of the Same Name'. And yes, SS, Neon was the label. I do possess the original UK LP of this one....

Nit picking but they were from Coventry which is close to Birmingham.

The music included is all from when they are an active band. This is not, as I understand, a reissue of their album.

It is live material and music destined for an unreleased second album.

Yep - I certainly understood that it's an archival release. It looks like demos from before the actual released album + live material.

    I'll probably get it.

Not that I expect much on sound quality but that video sounds like the basic sound is decent enough but has ended up sounding like a phasey, MP3 file. The video is short and they should have easily been able to use lossless so I don't get that. Hope the LP itself will be better.

Looks like no expense was spared on the cover artwork.

Like a cross between Cactus' 'Ot 'n' Sweaty and the original Fates Warning "Night on Brocken" cover.

You accuse someone from Coventry of being a 'Brummie' and you're likely to end up with a black eye! :-)

^ I wouldn't want to offend anyone at this silly mistake.

Black eyes as such have been rather plentyful through my years, though - I'll give'em that.

You didn't offend me as although I live in Coventry, I am not a 'Coventrian' and hate the residents of both cities equally.

^ Ah, but we've got the same shitty thing going on between Bergen and Stavanger here in Norway. Being an exiled bergenser living on the east coast now (as opposed to the west), people naturally assume that I'll always feel offended when provoked through stabs at my geographical origin - while truth be told I couldn't give rats if folks for whatever reason didn't appreciate stuff about my old hometown.

Degrade my bad teeth or wino nose (winose?) and I'll might be hurt, though.

    Anyway YEE-HAAAW, Indian Summer Shangri-la, ha-ha!

Great cover drawing for sure, yes. Could be somewhat worse still:

Absolutely great album, I've known it since the mid-90s. Not a weak track on it.

I could have sworn I ordered one of their earlier offerings, Jim.

I saw them live once (support for Deep Purple and East Of Eden), and strangely only a few days ago was musing that it was a shame no live document existed, looks like my wish has been granted.

There were a couple of Indian Summer acetates from 1969-71 that sold on eBay earlier this year. I wonder if that's the source of this material?

    Agreed

Not only have I ordered this, I have also ordered the original album on CD. I have it on less than perfect vinyl but I realised my digital copy was a fairly low bit rate MP3 (I rip everything nowadays to lossless) and my CD is missing.

If you're used to the album on vinyl, prepare to turn your treble down by about -10 if you got the old Repertoire CD.
