pretty good time to give back for all the Cardiacs albums you pirated because they weren't available on CD or digitally for the longest time

Jesus, when i logged in this morning, it was on about £3000 and i was trying to work out how many people at the average donation at that point it would take to reach the goal - and i wasn't hopeful. This is truly amazing. It's jumped from £3000 to £25 000 in about six frickin hours!!!

And people in Europe are just coming home from work and North America is just waking up. I am sure goal will be met today.

Truly unbelievable. I haven't contributed yet (will do it tonight). Let's get it to 100k!
If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap.

Donated. And this thing is now targeted at 100k! I hope we get there and exceed it. I think at this rate it may happen. The love for Tim is enormous.

For 100 thou i'd expect him to come round my house, beatbox his way through LSD, then do the washing up.
    Sharon F sez:
Good evening. Sharron here on Tim Smith's facebook, again. So, you did it! We are beyond grateful. I thought I'd better explain what you've done today in practical terms: firstly, you have secured funding, with or without the help of the local council, for Tim to stay in his facility for three months. We asked for this amount to be raised because a lot can happen with three months of consistent therapeutic input and we knew Tim would work hard to improve all his skills; we knew he would show finding bodies that he is worth investing in because he works hard. I asked you all if you thought we should raise the amount and the consensus is that we should. So I'm raising it to £100K. I know that everyone on the team has had a very emotional day and I, personally, am so bowled over that I am lost for words. (Everyone should savour this rare moment). This is so special, isn't it? Thank you, deeply and sincerely xxxx

Another little snippet of an interview our leader gave to Sean Kitching over at The Quietus .... http://thequietus.com/articles/23830-tim-smith-cardiacs

There's mention of an official Cardiacs book no less. Not heard that rumour before. Make it be true!

  22. #3322
.... and another mention over at www.louderthanwar.com along with their original article on Tim from a few years ago. Well worth a read if you haven't seen it before.

Most decent music sites are pushing this bless 'em. The total is creeping up.

I couldn't imagine being stuck inside that fishnet... its hard enough with mental problems WITH a body that works. Hands - feet etc... I cant put into words how bad I feel for Tim in his condition and here he is APOLOGIZING for his stay in the mucky hell hole. Goodness me... stop crying, Eric! I am so happy we all have been able to build a super nice pile of cash for him. Hope is alive in the Pond!

    65000 pounds now.

Just noticed another interesting and valuable point about this situation and that is the number of people who've donated and stated that they were compelled to listen to Cardiacs for the first time in the last few days after reading the original article. Hopefully this widens Tim's audience and helps form a new generation of Cardiacs fans, no matter how small the number.
