If the Hall means folks who were truly innovative and influential then Kraftwerk and Yes for sure. Probably Tupac as well.
Beyond that this list seems to drawn up by people thinking of "bands I liked when I was a teenager/in college", and back when corporate radio and MTV ruled.
But I could actually see ELO getting in just cuz there's been lots of use of their songs in films recently that's got everyone going, "Oh yeah, them. I always did like that song." The Hall is just that dopey.
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.
by definition of the actual members inducted, yep
there is no way in hell that ARW would do that set without Alan. now Howe I could see! but everyone seems to love Alan and his brotherly connection to Squire, which they would have to honor as the inductees. they won't let Tony Kaye sit out either.
they'll do a Union thing with all of them. unless Howe and perhaps Bruford don't attend (the only 2 I could see doing that)
whom plays bass? it should be Billy
Kraftwerk and The Zombies are the two on the list that I can't believe aren't already included.
seems most interviews I see mentioning the hall induction as a opportunity for a reunion so I bet everyone would do it guess main question would be who does bass and would bruford fly out for it.
that's not oversimplifying at all! I remember clearly when all of that happened (Soundgarden was a major (post subpop/SST major LABEL even!) part of this equation too. it was safe to say you liked punk and metal in the same breath
this phenomenon helped metal by-pass all of that post Van Halen glam shit. for me there's not a genre or time period worse than that hair metal era
come to think of it, punk/hardcore-wise Metallica never seem to name check Black Flag as much as they do say, the Misfits.
FYI: There currently are more prog bands in the R&RHOF than punk/hardcore bands (assuming that Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa and Rush can be counted as prog).
Squire always said, and Anderson continues to say, that such an event would be an opportunity to get everyone up on stage. I doubt Bruford would play, but I would guess the others would bury the hatchet for one night. But do they play "Owner" or "Roundabout"?
If circumstance dictate they must choose one, they'll go with the one who owns the name.
Henry

I think it would be cool if:
Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, Howe and Pomeroy played Roundabout, and
Anderson, White, Kaye, Rabin and Sherwood played Owner
I've been looking for the best Yes thread to post this, and this one makes as most sense as any;
one needs only to go to www.yesworld.com to find this posted-

The inclusion of ARW shows me a lack of animosity between the members and makes me think a re-Union of sorts is inevitable. Should the Shitall of Fame open their doors to Yes, I believe we'll see this re-Union happen sooner than later including Anderson, Rabin, Howe, Wakeman, Downes, White (defo for the Hall gig) and possibly but not probably Davison for any scale tour.
Bill Bruford, at best, will show up to stand alongside his former bandmates and collect his award. I highly doubt that will happen though and as for him actually playing again, we have a better chance of seeing Chris Squire rise from the ashes and perform.

"I'm a collector. And I've always just seemed to collect personalities." - David Bowie, 1973
they had a theatrically that pretty much any current band of the time not named the Butthole Surfers had
when I first saw JA I imagined it was what a Foxtrot era show must have been like. minus the singer and guitarist making out on stage at least!
but yeah, all purple lights and dry ice. lots of objects on stage. the Ritual shows were even cooler and more decked out. happy to have seen than a dozen times before the Lollapalooza swan songs
shame they couldn't stay together longer than they did. I love those first 2 Pornos records too
If I was voting from this list:
Zombies
Yes
Kraftwerk
MC5 (I live near Detroit so I have to vote for them)
Pearl Jam
