Not true in the Gilli Smythe case-- we bought out the catalogue outright from the family a little while ago and payments went direct to the family to help Gilli.

Charly and Affinity have released plenty of "that which they have no right to", especially in jazz. From my recollection, this was even before laws changed in Europe.
