There's also liquid melatonin and tablet melatonin. I think the liquid works better.
I'm eating a lot of fiber these days; Grandma called it "roughage."
f.lux is a (Mac) app that balances monitor color balance versus time-of-day, works amazingly well for me.
I often fall asleep while reading on my tablet. I use either the sepia or pale green page color, and I run the Screen Filter app to dim the screen.

But in my case, at least, it doesn't keep me awake.
Also, we use one of these.

I've been taking NR (Nicotinamide Riboside), a vitamin B3 derivative at 125 mg each morning since last November, increased to 250 mg each morning since February and noticed a good change in sleep. I now sleep like a log and wake up without grogginess. It is sort of a strange experience at first but I got used to it in a few days. My dreams are now vivid every night, something I also had to get used. Finally, I seem to sleep somewhat less than before.
Chromadex, the monopoly supplier of NR recently said that it will release results from its 140 person trial at 100 mg, 300 mg, 1000 mg and a placebo a day for eight weeks in June or July. The tests include changes in resting heart rate, blood pressure, glucose levels and cholesterol levels along with a 6 minute walking test.
Elysium says it has sent its NR trial results of 120 people to publication, testing about the same things, and will likely put that up on its website - when they might is still unknown.
A lead NR researcher suspects that NR is most effective the more out of shape one is and / or the older a person is. currently, 250 mg a day costs about $0.90.
You and me both! This is getting interesting since we are close to getting the results of two well designed human trials. Chromadex sued Elysium a few months ago for withholding a large payment of NR that they bought in late June when the results from the first four weeks were known. Chromodex balked at accepting the much lower price and so now are in litigation.
It will be interesting to see what happens to the price after the reports come out and recommendations for dosage that may depend on one's weight. When David Sinclair of resvertarol fame showed in 2013 that giving a lot of NMN to mice turned all muscles from a human equivalent 60 year old to a 30 year old in a week, the NR retail price shot up over 100% since NR is similar to NMN and has the same effect but currently much cheaper.
My sure fire medicines against aging too quickly are marijuana, singing, sloth, indolence and my grandchildren in that order. The first one is NEVER combined with the last one.

Prog, while it keeps me happy (along with doo-wop, jazz vocalese, 60s psych/acid rock & Hiromi), doesn't retard my aging. Now singing prog is indeed another story.

I'm feeling better than I have in years. Despite some bad habits I've lost 15 lbs. since the beginning of the year. Attributed to change in diet, and at least 4-5 cardio workouts a week. I'm in no hurry to keep losing weight but I'll reach my goal eventually.
