    Reissues

Happy about the reissues from the Floyd, especially Meddle. But, is there a one stop shopping place to get news of reissues? Hate for these things to sneak up on me.

Ice Magazine used to be good, but it's long gone. This place has the news on boxed sets and super deluxes:

Try a site called "Super Deluxe Edition". Really good for new on deluxe reissues, boxed sets etc.

I suggest also if there is a particular band you are looking for, sign up for newsletters from their label....

If you join Rateyourmusic.com, the bands that you rate will appear in your "upcoming releases" field (usually good for about 30 days out).

It's as good a comprehensive source of new release info that I know of.

Don't you sometimes feel that if you miss one, another will be along later?

Making sure you're on the mailing lists for The Laser's Edge, Wayside, and Syn-Phonic is also very helpful.

Yeah, but I guess it depends on how long later is.

You know Dr., I spend so much time at these sites anyway, always looking. But sometimes things just come out of the blue. Hearing of new releases is sort of easy. Reissues don't seem to get as much chat.

I do maintain a reissue news list on RYM. However, it's not really geared for mainstream artists with multiple reissues already, so it may not be of much interest to many folks here. But if you're looking for news of more obscure progressive rock artists, who are seeing a CD reissue for the first time, it's proven to be helpful to many.

Ice Magazine made life so much easier didn't it? Everything seems all fragmented now. I've never found anything as comprehensive as ICE once was.

Agreed. I miss it tremendously. But then again, having things so fragmented means that the wallet stays "heavier" than it used to
