    Ha!

I figured they'd simply have that one line, but they had the whole bio!

That was one of the funniest things I've read. At first I thought it was a spoof, but NO, they were serious !!!

Hilarious. And scary. Someone thought what was in that article passed as research. And an editor let it fly. I guess country is way bigger than prog in New Jersey.

Buy your tickets now, folks! Then, after the show, demand a refund.

I could see covering this John Anderson tune. That fiddle line is pretty sweet.

I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

In 2014 Jon was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Not quite the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Jon was hoping Yes would get him into but impressive none the less.

Let's just hope they don't expect for McGuire to turn up.

Actually there is more in common between them than you'd think. From John Anderson's Wikipedia page :

He has also recorded 22 studio albums on several labels.
    Sounds about right.

He played in a rock band until the age of 15, when he discovered the music of George Jones and Merle Haggard and turned to country music.
He was 15 in 1970, which is exactly when Yes recorded the "Disillusion" part of "Starship Trooper" which is slightly country-tinged.

The club appearances finally paid off in 1977...
Yes had their first charting single that year with "Wonderous Stories".

He first hit the Billboard Country Hot 100 chart in 1977...
...probably with the song "Going For The One", which features Steve Howe on pedal steel guitar.

Anderson's decidedly backwoods accent and distinctive vocal timbre helped land him in the forefront of the "New Traditionalist" movement...
He really did put Accrington on the rock'n'roll map with that funny accent of his.

Chart success was minimal throughout those years [late 1980s]. However, that turned around in 1991...
"Union" album did mark a career peak.

Over his career, Anderson has collaborated with a number of different artists.
A truer statement I cannot think of.

Anderson lives in Smithville, Tennessee, his home for more than 30 years.
This is the only part where they careers become distinguishable. "Our" Jon Anderson has been based in San Luis Obispo, CA, for a little over 20 years.

Truth be told, they'd already enjoyed top-50 singles success with "Roundabout" in the US.

Your part about the Accrington rural dialect is spot on, though!

A theater that doesn't know which artists are really performing?
