It was a Difficult decision but I had to see Joe as I never saw him before and I've seen YES do these songs except for one or two
from Drama....If I didn't have tickets for Walsh already I would have went to YES but maybe next time ....
The show started at 9:00 and the hall was about 80 percent full est. about 2500 people
Joe is still entertaining fans now as he was all those years ago first with the James Gang then solo then asked to join The Eagles and now at 68 is enjoying himself and fans get to see a great set of tunes spanning his career.
The band included two drummers one of who was his original drummer back in the 70's, four back-up singers , two guitar players and two keyboardist and a bass player.
He of course he had to open the show with Walk Away such a great tune and also ending up playing Funk 49 with an extended jam which included his side man Waddle WATCHEL who has played with just about every southern California band you can name including also Keith Richards and many others....
Joe also played another long song from one of the James gang records which I was unfamiliar with but it was really good and spacey...
he played a nice cover version of Sly's Everyday People
His tribute to Glen Frey included the song Take it to the Limit and he played other Eagles tunes such as 'Life in the fast lane " and one of my favorites "In the City" which had scenes from the Movie The Warriors playing on the big screen located behind the band while the song was being played...
Joe made a few political jokes basically not supporting either candidate and then played a nice extended set of his tunes from his 70's albums which included a great version of Turn to Stone, Life been good to me so far, Rocky Mountain Way and one or two others which I know the songs but not the names...
Overall A great show worth the time and money would see again and if you never saw him it was well worth it as he is on top of his game still has it.
