Some less proggy bands:
Pure Prairie League
Aztec Two Step (local boys) - both originals
David Bromberg Band - he outlasted his first two bands
Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen
Marshall Tucker Band - not many originals
Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes - New album in 2015
The Monkees - No Davy but new album
plus some long lasting soloists are still on the road - Don Maclean (still in fine form), Gordon Lightfoot (who has lost his voice), Leo Kottke, Al Dimeola, John Mayall,

I recommend Wishbone Ash. The current lineup has been together far longer than any of their other lineups and has been doing 100+ shows a year for the past decade.

^ my point was that the same 4 core members have been together for 46 of the band's 54 years. That's a helluva track record.
37 posts and no one's mentioned that band with the probing name that sounds better than "The Becker-Fagen Band"?
Baxter, Dias, Palmer, Hodder, Carlton, Herrington, Bumphus and all the other partridges in pear trees over the years all played the music of "B-F", who are both still fronting that band with the probing name.
You could put any combination of players with killer musical chops onstage, and if they were fronted by Fagen, you could still call it the probing name.
