I'll be at the Claudia show on Wednesday in Ottawa. Obama will be in town that day, so I will be on the lookout for him.
Think of a book as a vase, and a movie as the stained-glass window that the filmmaker has made out of the pieces after he’s smashed it with a hammer.

I would be extremely happy for Barack to be at one of my band's shows. I think he'd dig what I do. Sometimes.

Great show last night. It was in a small venue that only holds a little more than 100 people and it was full (at the start of the show at least )

The band was in great form. Most of the material was from the last two CDs. Hollenbeck was marvelous and his in between song patter was hilarious.

On a side note, we could see President Obama's motorcade leaving the downtown core for the airport just as we were exiting the hall, so I guess he couldn't make it to the show after all.

When John is 'on', he's really, really funny when he talks to the audience.

Lots of defections to go see the overlapping Charlie Hunter show, most likely.

He got the best response when he wasn't even trying to be funny, introducing the song "Peterborough":

"This song is inspired by a small town not too far from here...Peterborough, New Hampshire."

Everybody started laughing and he seemed very bewildered and unaware that there is a Peterborough, Ontario about two hours from here.

I bet he did know and was being doubly funny.
He currently lives in Canada, teaching at McGill!
