Where's the "art" in art rock videos?

... or prog rock, for that matter.

Bands spend years and years composing, rehearsing, recording, writing complicated thematic lyrics and creating astonishing artwork.


So why is the promoting video always (well, almost) utterly boring?


Five musicians miming on stage somewhere seems to be the standard routine.

Haven't seen any Bent Knee videos, I gather?




In all honesty, I prefer videos of the bands playing, preferably in live versions that are alternative to the studio cuts. It's probably much less expensive that way and it gives it a 'live' feel. Luckily, Bent Knee seem to like both approaches.
