    What's up with Tony Banks?

I went to his website today and everything is gone. No news, interviews, nothing. All there is is a link to buy his boxset on Amazon.

    Hopefully it's just under construction?

I think Phil Collins ruined his website.

Actually he's finishing up his next orchestral album. But he promises it won't be called 'five'.

He's still trying how to work out how to compose a decent song without his buddy's!

Fairly interesting interview in RS, not quite a year old, may have been linked here before:

Hired on to work for Mr. Bill Cox, a-fixin' lawn mowers and what-not, since 1964.

Man, so much hate here for Tony. How depressing.

That is interesting about his site. Has it been updated/restored yet?

And thanks for the link to the article, Reginod. I had read it before but it was good to skim it again (and see that lovely Prophet 10).

Maybe it's not the songwriting so much as the arranging. There was a stretch from Trick Of The Tail through to Abacab where they actually put (presumably) accurate bylines on the albums. Tony's name appears alone on several songs, so I'm sure he doesn't have much trouble writing material. Maybe it's that he needs Phil and Mike's arranging abilities, ya know "maybe we need a fanfare bit here" or "Maybe you should leave off that last section" or "Maybe there should be a guitar solo here" or "Maybe if you picked the tempo up a bit...".
