Steven Wilson has finished the remix of 'Tales from Topographic Oceans'

It came from the 'horses' mouth last night at the Sheffield City Hall gig!

Steve Howe announced that Steven Wilson's remix of 'Tales from Topographic Oceans' is complete & soon to be released. He also announced that YES will be playing sides 1 & 4 on a 2017 tour!

If true, then I am a happy buyer again! TFTO was (together with 90125) my first Yes experience! This is good news indeed!

If it's indeed "finnished", should we expect the remix to have a Scandinavian feel ? ;-)

    Auto-buy of the highest order.

    Yes sir!!!

Quietly and unassumingly, the Yes back catalogue is really getting decent treatment, especially if you couple the 5.1 blu rays with that live box set from last year. Hopefully more life stuff in box form forthcoming .

GFtO, Tormato and Drama are all that's left.

And I'm a fan of the two 1980s records, but I'm not sure if they will get the 5.1 treatment .

I don't normally go for these remixed/remastered sort-of-things but THIS will be a auto-buy for sure.

The 1st 2 albums have not been done.

As far as the 80s, Big Generator did not even get the Rhino treatment when all the others did.

As far as live stuff, Yessongs could use his magic touch, and what about a full show of the Moraz stuff from Yesshows?

And didn't Wilson have Tales finished already but some skinny guy in Yes is holding the release up?

It did but you have to buy the entire 1969 - 1987 box set to get it. By coincidence, I reread the reviews at Big Generator's left/right sound was switched in the remastering.

I thought I remembered reading years ago that the original multi-track recordings of Tales were missing, am I mistaken?

Confirmed by Steve Howe & SW! Hurrah, and double hurrah if we get to see them play half of Tales here in UK next year. A Yes UK tour two years running? They are spoiling us!

+ a serving of Relayer would keep me interested in YES as a touring entity!

Tales is my favorite Yes album, but I'm not really sure why I'd need another copy (I have the original CD release, then a remaster I got in 2004 or so). I hardly ever listen to Yes anymore anyway, so if I did get it I'd probably play it once then file it away. I think Yes has gotten enough of money.

Honestly though, I'll see what people have to say about it. I might still be tempted depending on reviews here.

No Wilson wouldn't ruin it like that.

The individual tracks for GftO are missing, so you can't do a remix. Downes appears to be blocking Wilson doing Drama. Whether Tormato or other albums get done (Time and a Word?) presumably depends on sales.

And mostly, if Wilson likes the albums!
