It was a trip to see such a big Ramsey episode, after just watching him in the funny and touching series finale of Vicious, a show where he played a sweet, naive, likeable guy. That was at 8:00, GOT was at 9:00. Now I'm wondering if I'll ever see that actor again, since both roles finished on the same night! I hope so, I thought he was excellent.

Now that was an intense episode! Great ending! Bummed but not surprised the giant died. Happily surprised the redhead wildling didn't die. I thought he was toast.

He's not dead, just going on vacation (e.g. Wyndham guy)

Great episode. Best one in a few seasons, maybe even best ever...Only seems a bit strange for a GRRM story ending in victory for all our "good guys". (Except Rickon of course)

Either Snow is crap with strategy, or Sansa's raven that she had already sent to Littlefinger "arrived just in the nick of time." Yeah, I'll go with that. (BTW,Jon had no clue about the raven.)

Just watched that now - nice! Some nice dragon action too.

I'm thinking that the only strategy to Littlefinger and the Knights of the Vale arriving just in a Nick of time was all Littlefinger's strategy. He waited until almost all of Jon's army was decimated than swept in to the save the day. Now he is the only one at Winterfell with any significant force. Now he goes for what he always wanted - Sansa- and in marrying her will have control of both the Vale and Winterfell.

Hoping for some more White Walker action tonight - hope everyone enjoys the season finale. My son has insisted on a pizza feast to celebrate!

I hear the show has been approved for two more seasons, at least.

The show will most likely end after two more shortened seasons. Next year is only going to be 7 episodes. The following, and final year, will be 6. Or so I've heard.

    Looking forward to tonight.

This is correct. There are a total of 14 more episodes including tonight's slightly extended-length episode. I'm hoping at least some of those are also longer ones! After tonight, we're waiting until APRIL for the next seven. Ugh...

Wonderful episode, Arya is going to be so bad ass, I'm liking Sansa more and more. Cersei is such a monster, now she has no kids left.

This episode really pushed my memory of who the F some characters were - I'd forgotten who the hell Walder Frey was.

I actually found it a somewhat ponderous episode, but I guess for the season end it was what it had to be.

I was quite satisfied with the finale: Snow acclaimed King of the North, Bran assumes his role as the three-eyed crow, The Mother of Dragons is finally on her way to Westros with Tyrion by her side, Cersei annihilates the stupid-ass sparrow leadership and gets sweet revenge on the sparrow-nun bitch and last but not least Arya cuts Frey's filthy throat, avenging the red wedding.

Perhaps most importantly we found out the circumstance of Jon Snow's birth (but I don't quite get it yet).

Anyway, seems like a great set-up for a monumental shit storm - but we have to wait until next year!

Turns out he never was the bastard son of Ned Stark, but his nephew. More importantly, I suspect it will be revealed that his father was Rhaegar Targaryen, who Robert Baratheon killed. This would mean he has more of a claim to the iron throne than Danerys, who is just Rhaegar's younger sister. That's my educated guess, anyway. In Bran's vision, Lyanna whispered a name to Ned, and it's the only thing that makes sense to me.

BTW I love Lady Mormont! I'm glad we got to see her again. Feisty little thing.

The only criticism I have is: How the hell did Varys get all the way to Dorne, then back to Mereen, to get on Dany's ship to travel again?

Cool episode. I love Arya's character.

Given how they created a montage out of the opening scene, I suspected something catastrophic was going to happen - though I wasn't expecting a body count on that level.

They tied up everything neatly and made sure everyone relevant (except the Night King) had a scene in the last episode.

I found that confusing and still open ended. One could believe that Ned and Lyanna were lovers (considering incest is already accepted on the show). That's how I took it until the inaudible whisper moment.

    Dragons, of course!

Yeah, squeezing him in would have been a little too much I think. I liked how the first half hour or so was dedicated to the King's Landing storyline. Even squeezing Sam into the episode wasn't entirely necessary IMO, could have waited til next season, although I enjoyed seeing the citadel library. As for Arya, I loved that scene of course, although it's another example of "How did she make it to the Twins so quickly?"

Incest is for Lannisters and Targaryens.

Ha... it's plausible from a "fast travel" point of view, but I can't imagine the dragons accepting Varys as a rider.

Great, great episode. So many loose ends tied up.

That awesome final scene featuring Dany+Armies+Ships+Dragons = a result bookreaders and showlovers alike have been waiting for for what seems like thousands of years.

Arya is quite the cute little killer now ain't she?

Barristan Selmy told Dany the story about how Rhaegar chose Lyanna and caused 10,000 to die. There have been other conversations that revealed that Lyanna and Rhaegar were lovers, I believe that it was also at least hinted at by Littlefinger to Sansa in the crypts.

My guess is the whisper to Ned was more like, please bring my boy up as your son, because if Robert finds out he is a Targaryen then he will be dead or exiled like Dany and her brother were.

Also noticed Varys on the ships after we just saw him in Dorne. Continuity Department on strike?

It was interesting that the information about the wildfire stored under King's Landing was actually mentioned by Tyrion Lannister in a discussion with Daenerys in the last episode (Daenarys' father put it there). As soon as I saw the cellar and the faint green glow, my head exploded. As did everything else. Really enjoyed Arya making Walder eat 'humble pie". Also, since Jon Snow is half Stark, half Targaryn it has to mean he's going to eventually marry Daenarys (that whole incest thing seems a regular plot point).

I'm sure in reality there were several weeks between each scene.
