What's the point of a post count if we it isn't being used?

Some of us look forward to these milestones (500, 1000, Etc.)

Somehow, it makes me feel inadequate.

People would deliberatley post more to reach their milestones sooner. We'd rather avoid any sort of competition like that. It's about quality, not quantity here.

    This.

    It's happened before.

The system does not allow the removal of the "Posts: 0" display unless you modify the source code.

We are going to great lengths to avoid modifying the code.

So at least I now understand why it hasn't been changed/removed, wether or not I agree with the reasoning for disabling it is another issue, none the less I respect the designers/moderators rights to impose rules and regulations

As mentioned in another thread, post counts can be useful in weeding out those idiots that only appear on message forums to spam. Read their first post and it's this incredible testimony to how great some act is, and you know you're getting spammed.

The way it is now, you really have no way of knowing this.

Unless, of course, you just memorize every member's name here.

No code mods - the system allows me to upload images for smilies.
