Any chance for a CD accompaniment like the TH trilogy?
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

I asked them on facebook and they said "no", unfortunately.

These guys play Magma so well it is no wonder that Jerome Martinue-Riccoti (keys here) came from them right into the band and needed little practice to play most of their songs. Any of the singers could move stright to the band.

Looking at some of the YT clips of Magma and related, I found some with the Metalik Orkestra -
I see they will be in Olympia in France in February -
Did someone see them play together?
Judging from the clips it looks like too many cooks spoil the broth -
It is a juggernaut indeed, but do the extra players actually add to the overall experience or just make the performance more rigid?

    Really?? From what source?

Yeah, I have seen no information on this. Recording Zess has implications.

Here we go, I checked their facebook page to see what's going on with that, and it's in this interview at the 18 minute mark. I would be very okay with this. I know Vander always said Zess would be the last thing he recorded, and I definitely wouldn't want that to be the case, but I'd still love a studio Zess.

oh well...extra shame as the recent versions of Kohntarkosz are really great.

Definitely, the recent ones surpass the Live/Hhai one in my book (actually seeing them play it actually helps haha). But yeah I listen way more than I watch when it comes to music, so we may just have to rip the audio off the DVD. Not ideal, but it will be listened to many times regardless.

I finished watching the NIHAO HAMTAÏ documentary (China 2015) and while it won't win any Academy Awards, I can completely and heartily recommend it. Really interesting to get the back story and of course, the Chinese perspective. VERY professional film btw!

Another thumbs up to Niaho Hamtai, it is a nice document and nicely done, very nice film indeed and one that gets better with every watch.
Don't expect many Magma performances in there, this film is not about that but just how Magma is perceived to many old fans and newbies (turns out the director herself is such a newbie, which makes it even better as she has a fresh look on things)
+ completely different culture and all its sociological implications (and naivete)
+ Great scenery and outside shots
+ Great (and not so great, as can be seen in the bonus stuff) moments of the band in tour.

Great short interview with Christian Vander taken from the Jazz à Vienne festival. French only, sorry, but regardless of language one can truly see his amusement when speaking about jamming with Elvin Jones: one of the most beautiful things that have ever happened to him (in his own words, this can be seen in the fragment starting from 1:06).

The subtitles didn't work for me (neither on a PC or a DVD-player), so basically its in french...ahem. One day it will work I hope...
I still watched it with great interest, and there are some nice footage too.

But it’s supposed to have subtitles? That sucks.

It doesn’t do the sales any good the DVD is only available on the https://www.themusicofmagma.com/ website.

It says that there is english, french & spanish subtitles, and the files appeared to be on the DVD, I just couldn't get it to work.
And on the main menu there wasn't a button where you could chose language.

My guess is that it will work for some. But that's not really good enough.

I had no problems with the subtitles, just press "subtitles" on your DVD remote...

Hmmm. On the Bluray that I have, the sub-titles seem to be automatically hard coded.
