Better known in the UK than in the States. Another part of my youth has departed. RIP.

He's one of my favorite piano players and I really love that album they did. Got stuck in a Thunderclap Newman rabbit hole online a couple of weeks ago and was reminded how much that music means to me. Unique and wonderful. Cheers to Andy.

"Unique and wonderful" is exactly right.

    Thanks, Mike

Accidents is very trippy sounding. Their best track for me. Didn't Pete Townshend produce this?

Yeah, and they were on Track Records. Also, Speedy Keen wrote "Armenia City in the Sky."

Rest in peace, Andy. 'Something In The Air' was a memorable song from my youth. A gem.

Always liked this song, and Fish really did a first rate job on it. It's really catchy. I'm not a big bagpipe fan but even that part works for me.

Another great keyboardist bites the dust. Loved that band.

I think so. The whole album is a classic. They should have been way bigger based on that one amazing album but, well, stuff happens, I guess. The fact that one of their songs is practically a standard (as you cam tell from the cover versions posted on this page) is testament to their potential.

Sadly, lasting fame is as much (or more!) a result of marketing as of talent.

He also plays bass on the album and singles under the pseudonym of Bijou Drains.

It's sad thinking that they left a footnote in rock history as one-hit wonders. They were much more than that.

    Such a shame.

By the way: Am I the only one who felt like "Something in the Air" sounded like Chris Squire was singing on it?

I never thought of that but...yes, I could totally hear that!

First heard it this way back in the '90's. I KNEW it was a '60's tune but it took a few years, I believe it was The Girl Next Door movie that it was in, where I finally knew who did it.

    Cool tune.
