    HBO Vinyl - Disses Prog

Just started watching HBO's new series Vinyl and so far they have dissed Yes, ELP and Jethro Tull!!!!

So far, after the first three episodes, just okay

Bobby Cannavale is the best part as he is really good in the lead role

The Alice Cooper part, makes it sound the whole event was too easy

It is a new series on HBO produced by Mick Jaggar and Martin Scorcese. It is mid 1970's music scene.

Is this show still on? I thought it was cancelled along with Bob Newhart.

I watched about 10 minutes of this dross and switched off. As usual it seemed more about the seedy, druggy, bad behaviour side of the music biz rather than the music.

    It’s an HBO show. I think that’s a requirement.

Game Of Thrones is still pretty killer. I like The Leftovers a lot too.

Whew. Ok. I loved The Sopranos. I haven't gotten into the latest wave of HBO shows. Too many shows to watch these days.

The first season of True Detective was phenominal. I don't watch the "soap opera" entries like Boardwalk Empire and Sopranoes. I just lack the attention span, plus it takes to god damn long. Even True Detective, I started watching as released on HBO , I lasted through the first 2 episodes and missed the third. Ended up waiting for the DVD release and saw the series that way. Eight episodes to a conclusion I can take, years of episodes I can not.
I skim watched the first of Vinyl , not interested no matter how long it is. And nobody got naked in the 20 minutes I watched either, definite point loss.

I would agree. Those were the very pinnacle. S.F.U. has to be one of the greatest TV series I ever saw, no matter the genre. Even a show like Carnivale had a lot going for it until they cancelled the damn thing as viewers apparently found it too cryptical and symbol-ridden.

Don't even mention how Deadwood was handled...

I can't decide if I like it or not. Watched all episodes so far. Is Olivia Wild the main character's wife (must be)?

I’ve only ever really followed HBO’s sketch comedy shows: The Kids in the Hall and Mr. Show (The less said about the stopgap show, Hardcore TV, the better. Some things are forgotten for a reason). Never had any interest in The Sopranos. I am interested in watching Game of Thrones after I finally get round to reading the books.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was great to. Especially the first 3 seasons.
