    Welcome to Scarfolk !

Scarfolk is a town in North West England that did not progress beyond 1979. Instead, the entire decade of the 1970s loops ad infinitum.

Here in Scarfolk, pagan rituals blend seamlessly with science; hauntology is a compulsory subject at school, and everyone must be in bed by 8pm because they are perpetually running a slight fever. "Visit Scarfolk today. Our number one priority is keeping rabies at bay." For more information please reread.

It’s pretty sinister and (IMO) brilliant. It really should be turned into a TV series, maybe directed by the Coen brothers.

EDIT: Don't miss the readers' comments!

The 70's-era UK-ness is lost on me, being an American born in 1972, but I'm a huge fan of wood paneling and orange shag carpeting, so, Scarfolk could be a really nice place to visit.

Yes! Very darkly funny book! Though that video of "Demons Comes in All Sizes & Shapes" is *creepy!
